I'm from Trenton, New Jersey, where the crime rate is high and the literacy rate low. College was a dream to me, but one I was determined to make a reality. I met Margery in August of 2014. This is when we began to work together on my college applications and my application for the Bill Gates scholarship. Margery and I started by filling out the information part of the application. She helped me thoroughly check every single part of the information section so we didn't miss anything. Next we started the essays: First, the Common App personal statement and second, the Additional Information question. Margery helped me edit and cut down an essay that was originally over 1,000 words into a perfect 649 word essay. Yes, Margery is so good at cutting and editing essays that she trimmed it all the way down to just one word under the limit without omitting one idea that was in the original essay.
After perfecting the Common App essays, we started to work on the writing supplements. Margery helped me edit and cut down each essay to perfection. After all of this, we started to work on the Gates scholarship application which included eight essays that could not total more than 1,000 words. Margery helped me format and edit all eight essays. I am happy to report that I got into six out of seven schools and that I was also awarded the Gates Scholarship. I know without a doubt that without Margery, I would not have been as successful as I am today. Thank you, Margery.

Margery Kashman, aka The College Essay Whiz, was the obvious and easy choice to help me with the daunting task of filling out college applications and writing college essays.
My older brother had worked with Margery to help him in this process, and he developed a great relationship with Margery. She came to understand his personality and therefore his goals rather quickly, and the end result was a flawless college application and beautifully written essays. My brother and my parents were so impressed with Margery that they encouraged me to use her as an ACT tutor and a college advisor. I am glad that I heeded their advice.
The end result was everything I could have wished for. With her guidance, I improved my ACT scores. In addition, I, too, submitted flawless college applications and interesting and articulate essays. I could not have reached my goals without her! Thank you, Margery!

During my senior year in high school, I had the pleasure of working with Margery Kashman. Applying to college is an extremely daunting and multi-faceted task. Margery was able to relieve some of the stress of applications by helping me with my essays and statements. She was great for brainstorming topic ideas and was very knowledgeable about what specific colleges and universities are looking for. I always had a problem with having a maximum word count for my essays. Margery would expertly trim down the essays I wrote while still maintaining all the details I wanted to include. She was also very honest. If she believed that something in the essay did not work, she would let me know and give me suggestions about how I should change it.
After I was accepted into one particular university, I applied for two scholarships there. I was soon notified that I was being considered for them and I would have the opportunity to interview. In addition to helping me with both scholarship essays, Margery helped prepare me for the interview by video-chatting. I received partial scholarships for both.
Margery was extremely easy to work with. Whenever I had a question or needed her help, she was always available. She is very sweet and genuinely cares about her clients. I am very glad that I found out about College Essay Whiz and that Margery was able to help me. I definitely would recommend College Essay Whiz to any high school student applying to colleges!

I originally heard about the College Essay Whiz from my parents who requested Margie’s assistance with my younger sister’s college applications. Although I was already a junior at the University of Southern California, I recognized the value of the service with a summer fellowship application. While I had the premise of my responses, Margie patiently helped me highlight important experiences and streamline the content. She was extremely timely in the turnaround and readily available via email, phone, and Skype. With her guidance, I was accepted to the program at the University of Michigan.
During my senior year, I was nominated for top university honors where they select 12 seniors to represent the graduating class. Once again, Margie strategically worked through my essay responses. Her insight into what readers are looking for is invaluable as she provides constructive feedback about how to strengthen content and improve perspective. It is often easy to think what we have written is perfect, but Margie’s comments elevated my application, allowing my personality and accomplishments to shine through.
Upon graduating from USC, I received the highest student recognition award honoring excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I have no doubt that Margie’s support on the aforementioned experiences was pivotal in garnering this award. I strongly believe that as a result of Margie’s assistance with these experiences, I was a competitive candidate through the job search process which resulted in offers from multiple healthcare firms. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with College Essay Whiz as I better understand how to communicate concisely and clearly, while also engaging a reader. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Margie again on my graduate school applications!

I worked with Mrs. Kashman twice over the past two years, once for my freshman applications and a second time for my transfer applications. I applied to a lot of schools both times, and she helped me reach the various deadlines for each school. She even helped me appeal a rejection to one school as well as send a letter with additional information to a school that had waitlisted me, both of which accepted me as a transfer student. I would highly recommend her services to anyone who is in need of help with their essays or applications. She is always honest in her feedback and does a very good job turning drafts into finished essays which always sounded like me. I was fortunate to live close enough to meet Margie in person; however, I don’t think that you will lose much if you can only use her services through email and phone.
I went to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University for my freshman year, and was overjoyed when I was admitted to Vanderbilt University, Wesleyan University and Boston College as a transfer student. I will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall.
