Medical and Nursing

"Why do you want to become a nurse?  What additional information that has not been previously stated in the application would help the admissions committee to learn about you? What do you hope to accomplish as a member of the profession?"

These questions are central to the admissions application essay for those of you who have chosen nursing as a profession and who wish to enter one of the many nursing programs that are available.

The programs are rigorous but are also exceptionally rewarding.  As a candidate, you will want to look at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN)’s website to determine what kinds of programs and schools match your goals and whether you have the prerequisites to be considered for acceptance.

You will also be able to take advantage of the Nursing CAS (Centralized Nursing Application Service) when you apply.

Some schools require the ATI TEAS Test (Test of Essential Academic Skills) in order to be admitted.  This is a multiple choice exam that measures entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.

College Essay Whiz has helped applicants to nursing school navigate this process from helping to choose programs and preparing for the TEAS test to creating an essay that demonstrates their goals and passions as well as their talents and experiences that will help to make them desirable candidates.
