Margery was a blessing to me! I first met Margery in 2015 when I was applying to transfer colleges to complete my Bachelor’s degree. I decided to do this at the last minute and never considered how difficult it would be to write a personal statement as a transfer student. After a few weeks of trying to write my essays, I decided to find an essay coach. I looked at numerous companies but liked the personal attention that Margery gave in response to my email. She agreed to work with me and I got into 5 of the 7 schools I applied to, including my first choice, Mount Holyoke College.
Fast forward to Fall 2018 and my next round of applications for my Master’s degree. I knew that I needed help and immediately knew Margery was the best person for the job. It took a few months to write the four personal statements and two sample academic essays for my applications. It was hard work, but Margery was there to push me, encourage me, listen to my worries and ultimately to help me write the best essays I could write. So far I’ve been accepted to all four programs to which I applied. I have decided to accept a place at the University of York (in England) to study Medieval Literature and Languages. I am so excited for my future and I am so thankful that I had Margery to help me reach my goals.

I originally heard about the College Essay Whiz from my parents who requested Margie’s assistance with my younger sister’s college applications. Although I was already a junior at the University of Southern California, I recognized the value of the service with a summer fellowship application. While I had the premise of my responses, Margie patiently helped me highlight important experiences and streamline the content. She was extremely timely in the turnaround and readily available via email, phone, and Skype. With her guidance, I was accepted to the program at the University of Michigan.
During my senior year, I was nominated for top university honors where they select 12 seniors to represent the graduating class. Once again, Margie strategically worked through my essay responses. Her insight into what readers are looking for is invaluable as she provides constructive feedback about how to strengthen content and improve perspective. It is often easy to think what we have written is perfect, but Margie’s comments elevated my application, allowing my personality and accomplishments to shine through.
Upon graduating from USC, I received the highest student recognition award honoring excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I have no doubt that Margie’s support on the aforementioned experiences was pivotal in garnering this award. I strongly believe that as a result of Margie’s assistance with these experiences, I was a competitive candidate through the job search process which resulted in offers from multiple healthcare firms. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with College Essay Whiz as I better understand how to communicate concisely and clearly, while also engaging a reader. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Margie again on my graduate school applications!

I worked with Mrs. Kashman twice over the past two years, once for my freshman applications and a second time for my transfer applications. I applied to a lot of schools both times, and she helped me reach the various deadlines for each school. She even helped me appeal a rejection to one school as well as send a letter with additional information to a school that had waitlisted me, both of which accepted me as a transfer student. I would highly recommend her services to anyone who is in need of help with their essays or applications. She is always honest in her feedback and does a very good job turning drafts into finished essays which always sounded like me. I was fortunate to live close enough to meet Margie in person; however, I don’t think that you will lose much if you can only use her services through email and phone.
I went to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University for my freshman year, and was overjoyed when I was admitted to Vanderbilt University, Wesleyan University and Boston College as a transfer student. I will be attending Vanderbilt University in the fall.

I was looking to work with someone like you because I wanted the best chance at being accepted into a top tier physics program. I needed help in writing my application essays for internships. Your help was more valuable than I could have hoped for. I thought my essays would need just a small amount of changing. If you felt something in my essays could be better, you let me know. You were nice in your critiquing of my work but were not afraid to tell me when something needed to be changed, and you were always quick to reply. I felt as though we became friends via email, and it was wonderful meeting you in person. When I was accepted to Duke and CERN to do high energy physics, it felt like a dream come true. When I told you of my acceptance, you were genuinely so happy for me. I could not have gotten where I am now without your help. I would highly recommend your expertise to anyone looking for an application review and a friend.

We cannot express how incredible you were throughout the college application process. The best move we made was hiring you to assist us throughout this exciting but daunting process. From choosing the right schools to visit and apply to the completion of the application process, you were able to take the majority of the stress off both of us while creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. Your meticulous preparation and assistance, especially with all of the individual college essays, unique to each school, eased the entire journey. We would have been lost without you. There was never a bad time to call and you generously gave your attention and time whenever needed. It was an amazing ride to see how working with College Essay Whiz completely facilitated and enhanced applying to college.
As a parent, I would have been lost without the assistance of Margery Kashman. I would endorse College Essay Whiz wholeheartedly to anyone who has a child applying to college.

I had the privilege of meeting Margery while I was performing with her in the Oratorio Society of Queens. When I started the tedious college process and began writing my essays, she informed me of her services and was willing to assist me in any way she could. Even though we met in person at rehearsals once a week, she was always punctual in her email responses and helped with revisions in any way possible. Margery was so easy to approach and her professional manner assured me that I was in great hands. We went through countless drafts, and as a result, I improved my writing on many levels after reviewing her suggestions. She also gave me several helpful hints on how to make the rest of my applications stellar. I cannot stress enough how much of a help Margery was in making the college process easier to handle in conjunction with my advanced senior year classes. Words cannot express how thankful I am for all her assistance and I hope to work with her in the future. She is a true gem!!
When we found Mrs. Kashman, our son was struggling with his Common App essay topic and content, and his application deadlines were looming ever closer. She stepped right in without breaking stride and—in a very short period—made great suggestions and edits to make the essay much better. We then turned to her for help with the school-specific essays, and she was equally effective. Our son was accepted early decision to his first choice, in no small part due to the great skills and perspective that Mrs. Kashman brought to his writing. We recommend her very highly.
