Congratulations to all of you high school graduates in the class of 2013!
Although you probably have a lot of summer plans, it’s important for you to keep on the lookout for emails and mail from the college you plan to attend in the fall. Registration materials and housing information are often sent to you in the summer, and it is important to meet the deadlines imposed by your schools. Also, once you have a housing assignment, get in touch with your roommates or suitemates to decide what each of you will bring or buy. Check out our ultimate packing list, to help you decide what to buy to set up your dorm room. Also, go on your school’s websites to find out if help is offered in moving in. Often, upperclassmen either volunteer or can be hired to give you a hand. Local stores will be able to provide you with supplies you can’t ship or fit in a car.
And don’t forget to register for your fall semester classes as soon as you are allowed. Even if you add and drop later, you don’t want to be closed out of the courses you hope to attend.
